Testimonials

Cheryl has been simply AMAZING! Her specialist subject knowledge, motivation to support her student and focused approach have enabled my son to walk into his exams with the right knowledge and confidence. His words were “she's taught me so much and actually helps me based on what I've done rather than should have done. It all makes sense now.”

From a parent perspective Cheryl has been professional, consistent, reliable, flexible and genuinely interested in my son's progress. I couldn't recommend her enough!

Cheryl taught me for two years as an adult student learning basic music theory, and to read sheet music for both the descant and alto recorders. I found her to be a great teacher - very knowledgeable, friendly, encouraging, patient, and fun. She would regularly allow me to explore my own curiosity about various styles of music, and regularly hunted down additional pieces that she knew that I would enjoy. We intentionally didn't follow a strict syllabus, but at times she did base the learning around standard musical gradings, ensuring that I'd grasped required concepts.

I would recommend her to any other students looking to learn an instrument or improve their music theory.

In 2012 I moved to the UK from Italy for my job and I was looking for an English tuition teacher when I came across Cheiron Education. Cheryl really helped me to improve my English, focusing on pronunciation, phrasal verbs and grammar. I found the tuition very professional. Cheryl tailored for me a learning program and prepared each lesson to work on my real needs. I have appreciated her professionality and I strongly recommend anybody who wants to improve their English skills to work with Cheryl.

Great teacher. Cheryl adapts her teaching methods to suit the different ways people learn by using resources and through different learning activities. Cheryl understands the individual pupil's needs and knows exactly what needs to be done/studied in order for the pupil to achieve their potential. She is also extremely motivating and I can already feel my German improving!

Selecting Cheiron Education was the best thing we could have done. Our daughter's confidence has grown tremendously and it's great to see her enjoying her French.  She resat her AS French and got a very high grade and is hoping to repeat that in the A2 exam in a couple of months time. Lessons are fun but stretching and Cheryl provides lots of extra resources to reinforce the tutorials. Cheryl has been able to impart essay planning skills and exam technique and she clearly knows the A Level syllabi in detail. She has been committed to the teaching, and although our arrangement has been for a regular day and time each week, she has always been prepared to be flexible when other things have cropped up. This has been perfect experience for us and our daughter.

Cheryl is professional, personable and uses effective techniques to engage and stimulate learning. She has provided first-class support to our son, developing his reading and writing skills, which has resulted in him having more confidence when in school, and there has been a marked improvement in our son's areas of weakness. I have no hesitation in recommending her; our son always leaves her lessons feeling positive and having thoroughly enjoyed the hour with her. As parents we are happy to see his skills developing from the one-to-one sessions he's receiving.

I have seen a different shift in confidence in the boys and a better attitude to learning, which was the emphasis of the initial contact. Both boys have improved in spelling and writing, so it is definitely working. Cheryl's expertise made a difference when it came to parent's evenings where progress was noted and commented on.

Cheryl has been excellent with our son and he enjoys his time spent learning the piano with her. Punctual, polite and very positive. I would happily recommend her as a private tutor.
